Happy, Happy New Year Crafty Friends!

Hello Hello and Happy 2017!
Hope the NEW year brings joy, love and happiness into your beautiful lives!

Sorry I've been away for soooo long. This military transition has been quite the unexpected journey.  Certainly hasn't been easy, (still unbelievably not settled into a home as of yet), but so it goes with big moves, constant changes and new life adjustments.  Stressed, but still hopeful for a good year ahead.  Faith and Family helps to keep a positive outlook and an open mind. My family is working hard and looking forward to the great new adventures that Colorado offers! :)

For now, Im taking a little time for crafting in anyway possible having limited supplies. Forgotten how crafting brings such therapeutic joy! :) One of the best crafty outcomes about this big move has been that I get to buy NEW things to help build up a temp stash.  Ive been ordering online and visiting local Dollar Stores and Goodwills for anything helpful... (like cutting boards, craft storage, stamps, punches, coloring stuff, etc.,) anything really, just to have something! ha! A crafty girl's gotta do what we must, heh? Trying not to re-buy the things that i already own, but since I need the stuff now, this means I'll def have duplicates to give away by the time we reunite with our household goods that include my crafts.

On a brighter note....

It's a NEW Year and our Mousey Designers have a brand NEW Challenge, HMFMC#232 at House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge Blog. Do come check us out. Yours truly is hosting and my theme is "New". Interpret this theme anyway you'd like, just tell me what is NEW about your project!  It may be anything New, New Year, New Celebration, New Products..., if it's NEW, it goes. :) Just be sure to use a House-Mouse, Happy Hoppers or Gruffies stamps, CD collection images and, or, any decoupage by House-Mouse Designs(R) on your projects!

Below is my take on the NEW theme.  I have purchased myself some NEW goodies and managed to make a few NEW projects. I will be posting these throughout this week with notes on each.... Some will be from earlier in the year that just never got posted.  Hoping to inspire a little creativity ...

"I've used New Craft Supplies"

Project DETAILS
This New Jar die/stamp set by Sizzix is super adorable in size and shape!  Ive die-cut the jar into a card shape. Stamped the mouse on the white CS then die-cut it for top base layer. I then stamped a second mouse and fussy cut it out to layer over the first. This gave it dimension. The jelly beans were multi stamped and cut out in various colors too then layered and set along bottom of jar to make it seem like the mousey is sitting on top of them. Isnt that cute? The jar is covered with an acetate cut of the jar and topped with the lid that's been die-cut, layered and also dry embossed for added texture. A sentiment was stamped, die-cut and adhered under the lid for the tag and twine was wrapped around and tied into bow.
Paper: White Cardstock, Acetate, CE Mirror Silver Cardstock
Stamps: Stampendous!, House-Mouse Designs(R) "Cling Jelly Bean Thief" cling stamp # HMCF02. Sentiment by Sissix Jar Die/Stamp Set
Ink: Black Archival Ink, SU mini inks (for Jelly beans), Chameleon markers
Accessories: Bakers Twines, Stampaholic, Sizzix Craft Jar Dies & Sentiments set #658699, We R Memory Keepers Drink Sleeve Die (for the flag Tag sentiment)
Techniques: Layering, Dry Embossing

  5. Good to have you back with us and crafting. Long time to be without your belongings...don't know how you do it.

Sweet card, pun intended! Love the jar, and what a wonderful place for our little mouse to get into with all those brightly colored jelly bellys! A fun card for sure.

Here's hoping the New Year brings you a new home, and some normalcy back into your lives. Funny how an ordinary life sounds so good when the extraordinary happens. Thinking of you and the sacrifices you and your family are making.................
